The full-width, single-storey extension adds valuable extra space for the clients, who wanted a flexible space that they could adjust for a variety of occasions. A fixed roof light runs across the width of the extension with exposed timber joists. This optimises the south-facing aspect, filtering the daylight into the deep plan and casting changing shadows throughout the day.
